Red Eggs and Ginger Party Card

Red Eggs and Ginger Party Card

In Chinese's culture, a red eggs and ginger party is where parents introduce their newborn to family and friends. And since it is my nephew's party, I decided to make a red eggs and ginger party card.

With only few materials, this card is very simple and easy to make.

Here is what you'll need:
  1. Scrapbook papers (Red eggs and ginger party theme paper-- red,  orange, yellow, brown, etc. pattern papers)
  2. Card stock
  3. Glue
  4. Paint or color markers
  5. Small brush for glue
  6. Small craft knife
  7. Double-sided tape

Let's start with your eggs' basket

First, cut out the shape of a basket in half. Make sure the size is proportional with your card's size.

Next, cut out little oval pieces for your eggs. Use small brush to dip in the glue and apply individually to each 'egg' and stick it on as shown above. Continue until you reach the size you are happy with.

P.S. lots of patient guys!

Now, this step require some cutting skill. Draw out a basket's shape on your scrapbook paper. Color in the negative spaces (areas where you want to cut out). Make sure all lines are connected.

After you are done, start cutting and glue the basket on your eggs!

Now you can cut out your base paper for the eggs basket to stick on. Make sure you leave some boarder between your base paper and your card stock. So make sure you measure your card stock before you actually cut your base paper!

Use glue to stick your eggs basket on the base paper, and use double-sided tape to stick your base paper to the card stock-- this way your card won't get wrinkles :)

You are basically done by now…but

If you think the card is too plain, get creative! You can add more to the card by cutting different shapes out of your scrapbook papers or decorate your card anyway you like -- add some glitter, draw some background, or whatever you like!

I hope this help you bring out some of your creativity.

Enjoy xxx

Simple Spicy Spaghetti with Tuna

Yum! Yum! If you love tuna and tomatoes, and a little bit of heat in it, this is a recipe for you!

This menu is simple and quick with ingredients you may already have at home. So let's get cookin' !

Ingredients:

  1. Fresh or canned tomatoes
  2. Canned tuna, drained (I used light Albacore tuna in water)
  3. Extra virgin olive oil
  4. 1 clove garlic, minced
  5. Red pepper flakes
  6. 1 1/2 tbsp white wine (optional)
  7. Fresh basil (Optional)
  8. Spaghetti
  9. Ground Pepper
  10. Salt

*I do not put any measurements because I just want you to measure on how much you want each ingredient to be as you like. Just that simple right?  :)

 Directions:

  1. Bring a pot of water to boil, add the pasta, and cook as label directs
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add garlic, and cook until golden brown
  3. Add tuna, stir for about 1 minute or until dried
  4. Turn heat to medium high, add white wine and cook until reduced
  5. Add tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, stir and let simmer until thicken a bit
  6. Add pasta to the tuna and toss until well-mixed.
  7. Season more red pepper flakes or salt and pepper if preferred.
  8. Remove from heat, add fresh basil and stir.
